Learn steps to Netgear Default Router Password

When you need to set up a device again, when you forget the password for a device, or when you want to restore a device to its factory default settings, default credentials come in handy. A brand-new NETGEAR router comes pre-configured with factory default settings, including login information. The username is set to admin and the NETGEAR default router password is set to password by default.

For increased protection, newer NETGEAR routers prompt you to alter the default password during the setup process. You can modify the admin password after setup or if you have an earlier NETGEAR router by visiting the router's web interface.
